Shortly after the filming and release of Godfather 2, Robert DeNiro had to leave for Italy for the shooting of 1900. During this time, he would occasionally fly back to New York to drive Taxi’s for a short period to gain inspiration and material for Taxi Driver. Robert DeNiro was famous for his serious collection of material before acting. It was reported that a man who Robert DeNiro drove around on one occasion noticed and recognised the Robert, and asked in sheer confusion as to why he was driving a cab after his successful performance in Godfather 2.
What an inspiration Bob is.
