The helmet worn by protagonist Pvt.Davis. This helmet always makes me wonder about what it represents. The peace badge on the helmet with born to kill obviously contradicts themselves, which in term I think symbolises how confused the soldiers were. They didn’t really know why they were there, why America had sent soldiers there, why over 50,00 Americans died there and didn’t know anymore who they were; who they’d become from this terrible war; a war conjured so Americas banks and defence contractors could make billions.
As Stanley so often does, he has made one of the most important movies of the era which represents so many themes that so many people are so curious and confused about.
